Synopsis

In a fictional realm called Daeho, through a supernatural process called “The Alchemy of Souls” magical practitioners are able to switch souls from one body to another. One young mage, who is also a skilled warrior, So Naksu (Jung so min), accidentally traps her soul inside the body of a girl who is blind, weak and being sold into servitude. In the body of Mu deok, she goes to work for Jang uk (Lee Jae wook) a noble who had his magical powers closed off by his father. Jang uk is the son of one of four powerful mage families but is the only heir gated off from his powers. Maksu’s family was killed by the mages and she has made it her life goal to avenge their deaths. Jang uk has been searching for a master willing to go against his powerful father's wishes and ungate his power and train him. Jang uk quickly realized that the servant girl’s body houses the powerful Naksu who is the perfect person to be his Master. Naksu hopes that she will regain her power through training Jang uk. Can the two overcome the odds and realize their destinies?

Review

A bad or unsatisfying ending carries a lot of weight in terms of whether or not others recommend a series. I did not watch this right away as I was told the ending was not good. But there were so many mentions of this across media that I had to check it out for myself. I am glad that I did. It is a little “Lord of the Rings” meets “Star Wars” with some “Game of Thrones” vibes mixed in. And yet it is all its own thing. I was immediately sucked in by the other worldly story.
