Synopsis

In the high-stakes world of elite family law, ambitious rookie lawyer Cheng Yao lands her dream job at the prestigious Junheng Law Firm, only to discover her new boss is the brilliant but notoriously icy Qian Heng. When a double-booked apartment forces the two strangers to become reluctant roommates, Qian Heng makes a startling discovery: the warm, optimistic presence and everyday sounds of his new housemate are the only things that quiet his long-standing insomnia.

What begins as a calculated arrangement—Qian Heng’s strategic tolerance of Cheng Yao in exchange for precious sleep—quickly evolves into something far more complicated. As he subjects her to rigorous, often merciless training at the firm (partly to push her out, partly to test her), Cheng Yao’s genuine talent, resilience, and unfiltered warmth begin to chip away at his guarded exterior. Amid intense courtroom battles, personal growth, and the blurred lines between professional rivalry and domestic intimacy, the unlikely pair navigates cohabitation, mutual respect, and an attraction neither expected.

A charming enemies-to-lovers workplace romance that blends sharp legal drama with heartfelt comedy, My Boss explores how the right person can heal what success alone cannot.

Major Characters

  • Qian Heng (Chen Xingxu): The brilliant, cold, and perfectionist founder of Junheng Law Firm. A top lawyer plagued by severe insomnia, he initially views Cheng Yao as an unwanted intruder but gradually finds solace—and eventually love—in her presence.

  • Cheng Yao (Zhang Ruonan): An optimistic, hardworking, and somewhat naive rookie lawyer with big dreams and a pure heart. She joins the firm determined to prove herself and ends up sharing a home (and transforming the life) of her demanding boss.

  • Cheng Xi (Chen Xiaoyun): Cheng Yao’s supportive older sister, who provides familial warmth and occasional advice amid her sibling’s chaotic professional and personal life.

  • Wu Jun (Li Junxian): Qian Heng’s law firm partner and close friend, often serving as a voice of reason and the one who suggests the apartment solution for his insomnia.
